People dying day by day...
And all we can do is just to pray...
Many have lost their love ones...
Tourist and people who live in slums...
We feel pain for these people who die...
Even though i may not be near but pain i feel in this heart of mine...
I wonder how lucky i am just to be alive...
To be with the ones i love unlike those who didnt survive...
If our prayers were to save just ONE person from dying...
I would go down on my knees praying...
God please spare these innocent people...
For they have done nothing to suffer your wrath...

Well done guys we quite trashed my AC friends today considering that they had the AC vice captain on their team. However we must keep in mind that the AC vice-cap is a left back, not a striker, and the rest of them are all from track, water polo, debating and all other non-soccer affliated activities, and haven't played in weeks and hence it was nothing really fantastic. PLUS we had Pauleo(the guy with the mad dribbling skillz) on our team. So well done but lets not get cocky. All glory to God and hopefully we continue our winning streak this Sunday. Match is fixed at 1pm, at Farrer Park. We will end by 3 and find our own way to Arise. Please meet BY 12.15 at Little India MRT station CONTROL STATION. Be on time please cos we are very pressed for time. Bring your boots, or whatever too cos its large field soccer, not street.

Additionally, anybody wanna play again in the basement carpark at my house, the 3v3 thingy, or at CCAB again. It was pretty fun today. If you do then tag the board and maybe we'll try and set something up before school or in my case, NS starts.

Hey guys, if you're reading this then you probably have a moment, so please take just a bit of that moment to pray for the victims of the earthquake and resulting floods and tidal waves in India, Indonesia and Thailand. A lot of people have lost their lives, their homes, their families, everything. So lets take a moment and spare a thought for them k.

First off, congrats to our church soccer team(pesudo-soccer team) on totally absolutely OWNING that team we played against. They had the jerseys, the boots, the mouths, we had the feet, the ball(s), the mad skillz, the goals and the victory. Well done guys. Official score: 6-3(Actual score without other team's excuses, 9-3).

Goals by:
Yew Thong(opening goal)
Shawn
Gabriel
Eugene
Ben(2)
Jonathan(disallowed by the other team)
Tim Tay(disallowed by the other team)
Charles(disallowed by the other team)
all disallowed goals above were actually goals that they argued with us about, and we were kind enough to give them the benefit of the doubt so.....

Well done guys. Also to everyone else who played a role defending and contributing to the victory. To Charissa and Liane, thanks for coming down to support. And to the other team, thanks for losing to us so graciously. We appreciate it very very much. ;)

We should get a team jersey or something and maybe have trainings soon.

Anyway, another match on this Sunday, 2 Jan guys, against Tim Tay's church, the one with the 47 year old pastor as striker and the commando guy as defender. Its large field, but we have a fighting chance so lets give it our best shot. I'm still trying to fix a time cos we have Arise, but the match should be on, so watch this space. I'll keep you guys posted. We'll be playing at Farrer Park near Little India, next to the Swimming Pool at KK Hospital. I'll meet you guys and bring you there. Okay that's about it. Merry belated Christmas and congrats to Chee Long and Emelia!!!

Guys we have two potential matches coming up. The first and more probable one is against a bunch of Raffles guys, my friends' team around my age. They played some NUS hall yesterday and lost 1-0 by penalty sot hey're pretty alright in standard. They also play regularly as a team on the large field, so we need to get our act together if we're gonna take them on. Which we are. That match will happen sometime during the weeks ahead, probably on a WEEKDAY so I need to know if u guys can make it. ASAP Cos i need to field POSITIONS. This isn't street soccer anymore.

The second possible match will be against my friend's church, who is pretty much older than us, with a 47 year old pastor as striker and some commandos veteran guy in defence. But they're pretty much the only two players to take any note off. If we play them we will stand quite a fighting chance. Again however this match will not happen on a Sunday contrary to the usual because they have Church in the mornings unlike us and play around 2 PM which is when we usually stop. So we need to play them either on a Saturday or at night which we will have to book a place with lighting(I'm thinking SPE next to the new SMU with the netball/street soccer court there $20 a night or smth). This match might be either field or street, but again I need to know if u guys are down for it early cos I need to get a team together that will have a fighting chance.

Anyway, look forward to these two matches and to everyone going for camp have fun and all the best.. To Charles, Eric and my bro coming back soon, all very essential parts of our soccer team, get back here pronto and report for duty. Your services are very much required.

Look. We set this blog up hoping to get everyone to contribute and as a platform for fellowship and growth. Its working but its been limited. I don't know how successful we have been. We have tried not to exclude anyone or to be elitist or clique-ish in anyway. COs that's exactly what we are fighting against. I don't know who reads this blog, but please listen to my words. You can read them now and deny that you ever read them, you can pretend you never came to this blog for whatever reasons. But listen to my exasperation and desperation.

Cityteens is a divided Church. It is a Church of divided purposes. A divided Church is not an effective Church. Paul dealt with this issue in his letters. I will not try to point fingers or make accusations as to the roots of this problem, but I WILL say that unless we unite and we strive to GROW toegether, Cityteens will remain divided and we will NEVER grow.

Some of you from all different factions of this divided Church have come to me and have said that your growth is stifled here in Cityteens. Some have cited YF as a better alternative, some have suggested changing Church. I ask you then, why bother thinking about it? If you cherish this Church which is very much YOUR place of growth so little, why think? Just switch Churches now. But remember, Cityteens is also GOD'S CHurch, it is also the place God has placed you in. This Church is as much your responsibility as it is the responsibility of the people in charge no matter how they may choose to discharge with that responsibility. And thus no matter how those in authority may use, misuse, or abuse the authority vested in them, it is the responsibility of us under that authority to respect it, and then to go to the aid of higher authorities. The highest authority of them all is God.

SO this is a cry for help, a plea for all of us, to unite. To unite as a Church, and to unite in prayer. A Church in prayer is to be reckoned with, and a Church united through prayer can then truly serve God's purpose. I feel that this isn't just my Church, it isn't just your Church, it isn't even just OUR Church as much as I would like it to be. This is God's Church. And we owe it to ourselves and to Him to honour Him and seek his guidance and help trhough prayer. The best that we can give of ourselves to Him is our all. I ask sincerely now that all of us find sometime, no matter what time of the day to pray for our Church. To pray against Earthly wisdom and control, and to pray for God's grace and will to be prevalent in this place. I ask us to pray for God to make this Church His own.
