Haha, I guess in reality there are millions of lost coins… the lady in the parable, she needed light and effort in order to find the coin. maybe we wonder, where do we get the light from… and we look all around for that light so that we can find the coins… look no further, light can come from within us… it’s in us maybe because of the thirst for Christ in our lives, the desire to serve God, God’s love…all these many factors… with one source of light we can find the coins… but if we all come together, with the many light sources, the place would be much brighter, and it would be easier to find them.

don’t ever let urself doubt and feel that u don’t shine for Jesus, because u do have that light… and God sees it… don’t be afraid, coz there is nothing that’s gonna happen today that u and Him can’t get through together

heya i was just thinking abt charles' entry abt praying and i agree. instead of complaining and worrying abt any problems surfacing in cityteens, we shld start doing something. coz in times of helplessness and despair, where we do not know where to go or whom to turn to, God is always the answer.

yeah and i was thinking instead of praying tt 9-10pm thing could we do more? i mean ppl tend to forget such things very easily, and i must admit that i only rmbred doing the 10pm prayer thing set up long time ago once or twice. i was wondering whether we all could set a time where we are all free, like after o's and a's tt we could really meet up somewhere and pray together.

like a jamming session. but this time it will be a praying session.

i guess all of us do have a burden for cityteens, regardless of whether we've been here for a long time a not, and we want to see cityteens grow, and not being rather stagnant as it seems now. and obviously just carrying on talking abt how stagnant cityteens is now is not going to help solve any problems nor improve the situation. but then again, we r at a loss what to do. therefore i feel tt praying is very, very impt in such a time like this. God is in control of all thats been happening, and only He knows whats best for us.

dont give up! never! continue to pray and seek God. i believe a revival will come soon. i hope u all will think abt this and say wad u feel. i really hope tt we can spend some time getting together and pray. coz when two or three gather together and pray, God answers prayers. and there is power in prayer. this suddenly reminds me of the poem i wrote and matt edited it looooooooong time ago. haha. hope ya dont mind me putting it up again.

Here it is, i think its really, really true:

We thought that it would be a great year
We knew we all will rise
We all expected great big things
But never did we realize

That we were all so vulnerable
That we could so easily fall
And succumb to the devil
And forget about the call

The calling we all had
To spread the word of God
To put on the armour
And start on a battle well fought

One problem after another
Of anger, hurt and hate
Why are we falling?
Hopes all begin to fade

Where are you Lord
Because we need You now
We know that all things are possible
So Lord please stop us from going down

Where are you Lord?
Come open up our eyes
Bring us out from darkness
To repair our ties

But we know this is not a dead end
Although more may come
Cause we know God is on our side
Get lost you devil...RUN

Go away you evil one
And stop spoiling the unity
Go away and don't come back
Don't ever think of breaking up our family

This is a test of faith
But like Job we will prevail
We will overcome all obstacles
Never will we fail.

Come all ye brothers and ye sisters
Come and fight this battle
We will pray like never before
And God will win this battle

And now I dare declare
That no matter what we face
We will stand united, tall and strong
And win this battle, by faith

as wad drea posted earlier on:

EVERYTHING with prayer, NOTHING without it.

when we r down and in despair,
PRAY, and God will repair

Amen.

hey all,
a few of us came together(ryl, kim and myself) and talked about cityteens on msn. we talked about what possible problems cityteens could be facing at the moment. In the end we came to the conclusion that the only real thing we can do to solve these problems now is to pray. So we felt that all of us as CITYteens should pray a common prayer and "persistantly pray" this prayer. Here are the two main points that we came up with:

-To first prepare the leadership for the issues we are facing.
-Second for God to show us His direction for CITYTeens, that we will be able to follow His direction.

I have been in CITYTeens practically ever since the beginning and i can truly say that I love CITYTeens and every single person there. I pray that all of us will unite in these times and stand together with a common prayer. It may only be a prayer of 5 minutes, but even those 5 minutes are heard by God. We will all be praying at a uniform time of between 9pm-10pm. All we are asking is for just 5 minutes around 9-10pm for you just to talk to God and pray for CITYTeens. Thanks:)! Love ya all!
Up and On
charles.

The bunch of people planning the end of year party will be coming over to my house tmr(Thursday) to basically err, plan the party. But we'll be watching some movies, swimming, playing tennis or soccer or Playstation2 or some other fun stuff, and having pizza. You can even request movies you wanna watch, just post on the tagboard or email to proclaimmyname@hotmail.com and if theres a huge enough demand I'll try my best to get that movie by Thursday. But please request in a group so that you won't be the only person watching. It'll be fun and there's no Friesday this week so anyone's invited.

My house is Signature Park, Toh Tuck Road(Near the King Albert Park Mcdonalds end of Bukit Timah). If you need further details or directions, drop me, Charles, Ryan or Sharon a line cos we live near each other, or tag on the tagboard and I'll get back to you.

We'll be meeting in the late morning/early afternoon, and I promise it'll be fun. I should know, its my house. So if you don't have plans on that day then do come, you can even help out with the party planning.

(By the way Ryan and Gab if you read this please contact me asap about bringing your CPU and laptop)

Hey anonymous,

you said on 11/02/2004 on our tagboard:

"hi was at your CHurch last sunday and i just wanted to offer a friendly reminder that ministry is between you and God. One shudnt be forced to go up nor shud one go up purely to "act" holy. please do not be religious hypocrites. I feel ashamed that a church can actually be this way. I pray that those of you who know what I'm talking about will be able to walk with God on a more personal level rather than because of your friends. But nice blog anyway. I c u ppl r really fun!"

Thanks for the comments. Appreciate that you like the blog and that you think we are fun people. I'm sorry that you have developed such an impression of Cityteens after just one visit. Perhaps you could come back again sometime, I'm sure you wouldn't be ashamed of a Church that truly loves God, which I'm sure Cityteens does.

I understand what you are trying to say about "religious hypocrisy". Sometimes in our zeal to serve God in our human manner, we may forget that other people's relationships with God are between them and God and we have no right to judge them. In our focus on our own relationships with God we may even question others or condemn them. I think most of us have been guilty of this at some point or other. We may have told others that they have "backslidden" or that they "need" God, forgetting that we ourselves need God just as much and that we are just as human and imperfect. However, it is always good to realise just how human we are, as when we are weak is God truly strong.

Perhaps by what you are saying you are yourself passing judgement too quickly on Cityteens, I encourage you to come back again sometime and maybe what you see next time will change your mind about us. We have nothing to prove to man, and only God is our judge. I too pray that if ever any of us may fall into the trap of "acting" holy or of thinking ourselves "holier" than others that God will remind us that we are still very much His children; sinners redeemed by Christ.

hey peeps!

This blog is a blog for everybody, and in order to keep it that way, it is essential that the content of the blog be moderated. Moderation ensures that nothing offensive or detrimental to the purpose of the blog is posted, and it also safeguards what could otherwise be potentially destructive to the blog itself(such as someone changing the password). Moreover, the logistics of having multiple people logging onto the blog at any one time is also inconceiveable. As such while we encourage all contribution, it is imprudent to release the password indiscriminately.

However we very much welcome your contibutions, so long as they are relevant, insightful, and constructive. That is, we welcome official announcements by ministry heads, consolidated prayer requests, new song lyrics by worship leaders, and any other comments by anyone else.

When I say comments, I don't mean one liners like "hey [insert event here] was [good/bad] ". Comments should be clear, relevant and be worthwhile reading. Anything else like "hey is there soccer this sunday?" can go on the tagboard. In addition comments should be edifying to the body, which rules out crude language, gossip, etc.

Example:

Person A posts:

"Hey guys, I think Speaker X was pretty good and I especially appreciated what X said about this aspect of our lives. I think it was extremely relevant and it really struck me and helped me to indentify with what X was talking about. To build on what X said, I feel that verses Y-Z of [book of the Bible] are also very striking."

To which Person B can reply:

"Hey Person A, although I agree with blah blah segment of X's sermon, I felt that what X said about other blah blah was somewhat misleading. Instead I feel that we should read [other book of Bible] to fully comprehend what X was trying to bring across to us. I hope this helps."

All contributions can be sent to proclaimmyname@hotmail.com and will be reviewed before posting. Please indicate the subject, and outline any other relevant information.

Please also remember to leave your name on the post unless anonymity is desired.

First off I want to say. Our tagboard is majorly flooded. Which is a totally awesome sight. Please do continue to visit this blog and hopefully we'll all learn something from each other here. Church doesn't have to end on Sundays. It's not a sermon, a song, or a testimony, its a lifestyle.

Well can we all NOT say goodbye to Andrea? No cos obviously God has called her elsewhere. At least however we WILL be able to miss her. Like The Onion said, "its not goodbye, its just see you again soon." Strange since Onions usually are associated with tears. But anyway bye Andrea, but you better not let us miss you for too long. Come back and visit k!

To all O level people good luck and don't go jumping off any train tracks, the party only begins AFTER the exams and I'm sure you wanna be there when it happens.

Lastly, let us all observe a moment of silence for Cuddles, 15 Febuary 03 - 01 November 04, beloved hamster of Andrea, who has left us at such a tragic time. All tissue paper donations to Andrea's house are warmly welcome.

PS Please pray for Emilia who was briefly in hospital because of minor contractions. The baby is fine and she is resting now but your prayers will be very welcome.
